A great night out almost always starts or ends with a few good cocktails. Zurich has many great bars and we’ve compiled our favorite spots in town for great cocktails and inspiring atmosphere.
Ray Grodski
Near trendy Idaplatz, Ray Grodski’s bartenders create impeccably inventive creations on a weekly basis. Their cocktails not only taste delicious but it is certainly entertaining to watch the bow-tied bartenders do their magic, and sometimes set your drink on fire, before serving it to you.
The atmosphere is casual, hip but comfortable, and the dimmed lights and candlelights give Ray Grodski a New York-style, speakeasy feel. The music oozes coolness, but isn’t too loud so you can still have a good conversation with your friends or date. On weekends their DJ's make for more of a party mood during the late hours.

George Bar & Grill
George is located on the top floor of the Casino near the river Sihl, and has fantastic views over Zurich. When entering the room, you immediately feel as if you are in a metropolitan cocktail lounge in the 1950's, which is only enhanced by the live piano sounds in the background.
At George the drinks are delicious, but you can also have a tasty snack with your drinks.
We’ve tried many of their cocktails but were extra impressed by the “Winter George” that came in a flask which you got to take home with you. All in all, a great place for a few drinks with friends.

Bovelli
Bovelli, the sister cafe of Grande and Dante, is our favorite place for a quality gin and tonic. They have an extensive menu of both different gins and tonics, as well as many other cocktails.
Their Moscow Mules and Pisco Sours are top notch and definitely worth a try too.
The interior, much like Grande or Dante, is very simple yet still stylish, and in the weekends they have a DJ spinning tunes of different styles, with a fair share of hip hop beats. Bovelli is perfect for a few drinks before or after dinner.

Kronenhalle
Kronenhalle Bar is a Zurich institution and probably has among the best and most authentic cocktails in town. The style is very classical, with paintings from Miro and Picasso serving as your company.
Kronenhalle isn’t for everyone, you’re more likely to find bankers and older couples sipping Old Fashioneds instead of hipsters with Whiskey Sours, but if you want a great cocktail in style in a timeless location, perhaps to impress your date, parents or an art lover, Kronenhalle Bar is your place.

Bank
Although Bank is a newcomer it quickly rose to become one of the most popular bars of Kreis 4, with hipsters flocking and standing in lines to get a taste of their cocktails. The perfect location aside, the drinks are excellent, the crew is super friendly and welcoming, and the interior is uber-stylish, making Bank perfect for a few drinks out with friends at any time of the day.
