The 6 Best Brunch Spots in Zurich

Brunch is our favorite meal of the day and thankfully there are plenty of great brunch spots in Zurich. If you are unsure of where to go for your brunch-fix next weekend, you’ll find our top-6 spots, not listed in order as we simply can't decide, in Zurich below.

1. Café Bebek

Café Bebek at Kalkbreite is one of the trendiest spots in Zurich. With it’s metropolitan interior and its oriental, but diverse menu you immediately feel as if you are in a big city.

When you enter the restaurant you'll notice the high ceiling and the tram passing by in the background, as it is located inside the building of the Kalkbreite Tramdepot, but it all adds to the busy, big city feel.

The food is absolutely delicious. We love the fresh peppermint tea and the weekend brunch à la discretion, which comes in étagère and consists of several oriental mezes, cheeses, yoghurts, fruits, fish and egg dishes, and much more.

Go there with your group of friends, but also make sure to make Bebek your go-to spot to bring out-of-town guests. They'll surely be impressed!

2. Kafi Dihei

Kafi Dihei, located near the hip Idaplatz, makes you feel like you entered someone’s very cozy livingroom. This is the spot to go on a brunch with your girlfriends or your family, or if you had a long night out and just want an easy, hangover brunch (they have a dish specifically for that!)

The cafe itself is really small, but so cozily decorated that it immediately makes you feel at home, hence the name "coffee at home" in Swiss German. Their brunch dishes change on a weekly basis but range from delicious and fluffy pancakes to creative egg variations. Kafi Dihei also serves among the best home made cakes in town so make sure to try some next time you stop by.

In summer you can enjoy your brunch on their beautiful terrace, but try to be there early enough as they do not take reservations.

3. Bohemia

Entering Bohemia you immediately feel as if you are in a café in London or Paris and the menu truly reflects that. It is not common to find Eggs Benedict and American style pancakes in Zurich, especially not as well made as in Bohemia. Combine that with their delicious breakfast cocktails and you have a great brunch as a result.

4. Babus Bakery & Coffehouse

We love the cozy atmosphere of Babus Bakery. Here you’ll find a traditional Swiss breakfast but also a range of healthy, delicious porridges and chia puddings, as well as freshly pressed smoothies and juices.

The food and cakes are always fresh and there are many choices of coffee, tea and home made ice tea. We especially enjoy the homemade ginger lemonade.

Babus is often filled with families and cute looking couples, so this is not the place to go with your crew and drink Bloody Mary's all day, but if you're in the mood for a cozy, healthy brunch, Babus is certainly a great option.

5. AuGust

AuGust is part of the famous Widder Hotel at Rennweg and their brunch does their location justice. Here you’ll find a range of exciting egg and pancake dishes, as well as homemade Birchermuesli, and various porridges. The service is great and we love the fact that you can go to the counter and choose your own meat and cheese.

We were impressed with their Bellini’s made of fresh peach puree and Ruinart Champagne, it definitely adds a luxurious touch to a weekend brunch. Their Bloody Mary's are good too. Make sure to give AuGust a try soon.

6. Café Lang

Café Lang at Limmatplatz is easily one of the coolest cafes in Zurich. With it’s Parisian chic interior and delicious brunch menu, Café Lang will make you want to stay for hours just observing people and sipping cappuccinos.

Their poached eggs with smoked salmon and avocado is one of our favorite brunch dishes, and combined with their home made ice tea (which comes in its own little carafe) makes brunch at Café Lang a really enjoyable experience.

Café Lang oozes hipness (check out their super cool staff!) and is a great place for a date or for an easy brunch with your friends. Also here a hangover is forgiven, and brunch is served until 5pm on weekends.
